ASDP 2026 Annual Meeting
Thanks for connecting with us at ASDP.
Our website is built for community organisations, so you won’t find content directed at doctors. That’s why we’ve made this page. When doctors approach us, here are the usual questions and answers that get discussed:
-
No, because you will be paid! The only volunteers are our board of directors.
-
No, because we only do system-level work. This is a new type of job for a doctor, and we are proud to offer it.
-
Xstitch has learning packages about system theory and complex decision making. If you’ve been accepted onto a project, these are done in your paid hours. You will also have a mentor that has been in your situation.
Systems thinking isn’t taught to doctors. At Xstitch, you learn it, then apply it immediately.
-
We’re a small, supportive team. Projects can vary from weeks to months. You typically work a few hours per week when it suits you, and attend meetings where needed. If you travel for projects, all expenses are covered by Xstitch (eg flights, accommodation, meals). If you present our work at conferences, you are paid for the preparation time and, depending on the conference, Xstitch covers some conference expenses.
-
We are currently testing this. There may be project opportunities that count towards training.
Our Projects page has examples of our bigger pieces of work.
Xstitch is about curiosity, purpose and fun. If that resonates, we would love to hear from you.
